Casino-themed entertainment 18+ Symbolic chips only — no real-money gambling Auckland, New Zealand

A bureau,
not a booth.

PromoLineup Events Ltd is an Auckland production company with one specialism: casino-themed entertainment, done properly. We have produced 137 events since 2021 — and turned down every enquiry that asked us to be anything other than entertainment.

The story

Five years,
one specialism

2021

Two tables and a van

PromoLineup starts as a two-person operation with a roulette table, a blackjack table and a borrowed van. The first booking: a 28-guest birthday in Ponsonby. The host-led, symbolic-chip format is there from day one — it was never an afterthought, it was the idea.

2022

The corporate turn

Word of mouth brings the first corporate clients. We formalise the four-stage production process, hire and train our first host team, and write the house rules that still open every event briefing.

2023

Beyond Auckland

First productions in Wellington and Hamilton, and the start of our partner venue network. The mobile rental format launches after agencies keep asking to borrow our tables — and our hosts with them.

2024

The hundredth event

Event number one hundred is a 220-guest client reception — still our largest. The VIP tier and team-building rotation format both graduate from experiments to the permanent lineup.

2026

Today

A core team of six, a trained host pool of twenty-two, twelve partner venues across four cities, and a calendar that fills from August onward. Still one specialism. Still symbolic chips only.

The people

The core team

Six people run the bureau. Behind them stands a trained pool of twenty-two event hosts across the North and South Islands.

Marcus Ellery

Founder & Creative Director

Former theatre production manager who decided corporate events deserved stagecraft too. Writes every concept note personally and still hosts the odd roulette table to stay honest.

Tessa Winiata

Head of Production

Owns the run sheets. Ten years in live events across Aotearoa, from festival stages to award dinners. If the evening looks effortless, that is Tessa's doing.

Oliver Brandt

Head Host & Training Lead

Trains every host in the pool and wrote our beginner walkthroughs. Believes a good table host is two parts teacher, one part compère, and zero parts showman.

Priya Sharma

Client Director

Your first call and your last debrief. Priya turns vague briefs into signed concepts and has a firm rule: no client ever hears “that's not possible” without hearing an alternative in the same sentence.

Daniel Okafor

Logistics Manager

Moves twelve tables around the country without a scratch. Knows the service lift dimensions of every major venue in Auckland by heart, which is exactly as useful as it sounds.

Grace Thornton

Guest Experience Lead

Designs everything a guest touches: chip sets, table cards, arrival guides, photo zones. Keeps a shelf of every branded chip we have ever produced — 137 events and counting.

The standards

What we hold ourselves to

STD — 01

Entertainment only

Symbolic chips, hosted scoring, zero real money. We decline any request that blurs this line, and we have — more than once.

STD — 02

Every guest plays

An event where a third of the room watches from the wall is a failed event. Hosts are measured on participation, not applause.

STD — 03

Leave no trace

Venues are returned to their original state the same night. Our reputation with venue managers is a production asset and we protect it.
